When not at Tulane, Parker can often be found playing computer games or in a rowing shell. He serves as faculty liaison for the Tulane University Rowing Association and maintains a site for the Memmian Rowing Club. In New Orleans, athletes carry boats over a levee wall and row in a lovely drainage ditch euphemistically called a "canal." However, in New Orleans, you can row year round.
